Will be sadley missed...

In Jan 2014 the Leek Twinning Committee was saddened by the resignation of its chairman Helen Ratcliffe.
Helen has been a great supporter of twinning since she joined in 2004, eventually becoming Chairman in 2006 on the resignation of John Fisher. During her period of office she championed the objectives of the committee very successfully particularly with regard to the involvement of youth as part of the interchanges between the towns, which has been a major objective of the committee since its inception.
She made four successful grant applications to Brussels, the income from which funded a number of very successful visits made to the town made by both Este and Bad Windsheim.
The incoming chairman, founder member Paul Baxter, stated that Helen would be "missed for her leadership, hard work and dedication to twinning all of which has raised its presence to a new level in Leek".
All of the committee would like to thank Helen for her valuable contribution over the last 8 years and wish her well in the future.
