About Lisa

I specialise working with different healing modalities. I am a Reiki Master in Usui/Tibetan, Universal Karuna and Angelic Reiki.
I work in Leek at my Open Heart Healing Clinic and Shelton at The Torus Wellbeing Clinic.
I am a member of the UK Reiki Federation and Professional Reflexology.
Before retiring, I worked as a community mental health nurse (RMN) in North Staffordshire. I have over 22 years experience working as an NHS nurse. As part of my last job I ran a busy and successful Reiki Clinic for patients, carers and staff, taking referrals from a wide multi disciplinary team including doctors, nurses, physiotherapists and social workers.
I worked for several years with the Carer's Associations in North and South Staffordshire, training carers in Reiki to support and empower them in their caring roles. I have also trained Macmillan nurses and Age Concern staff.

I have been working with complementary therapies now for nearly 30 years and I use them both personally to keep myself healthy and in balance as well as for my family, friends and colleagues.
I practice my healing skills professionally at 'Open Heart Healing' my holistic treatment centre in Leek, as well as ‘Soul-Reflexology’ at the Torus Wellbeing Clinic in Shelton, Stoke-on-Trent.
Lisa has a Level 5 Diploma in Practitioner Reflexology with the Contemporary Reflexology College with Allison Walker. Following an in-depth investigatory clinical assessment, Lisa works with the feet, hands, ears and meridians to deliver bespoke individual treatment plans for her clients. Lisa also offers Pregnancy, Fertility, NEPIP and Palliative Care Reflexology.
Lisa works with a powerful healing art that is called Vortex Healing® Divine Energy Healing, (www.vortexhealing.com) coming from the Merlin lineage and considered magical transformation energy. This exceptionally effective energy medicine can be directed precisely into any condition, any organ or bodily system. VortexHealing® is an advanced healing modality that helps people transform their suffering, regain balance and move into mindful awareness. It can take as few as 6 sessions to make a considerable difference to most conditions with Vortex.
She has been a member of the Moorlands Therapists since 2002.
The practice of Reiki is an original method of healing, developed by Dr. Mikao Usui in Japan early in the 20th century, which is activated by intention. It works on every level, not just the physical.
The Japanese word Reiki means 'Universal Energy'. Eastern medicine has always recognised and worked with this energy, which flows through all living things and is vital to well-being. Known as 'ki' in Japan, 'chi' in China and 'prana' in India. Acupuncture, T'ai chi and Yoga are also based on the free-flow of this energy in a person.
Reiki is a non-invasive therapy whose purpose is to treat holistically and to restore homeostasis.
What are the Benefits of Holistic Therapies?
Illness can be a time of great stress. Holistic therapies can help us cope by encouraging relaxation and bringing balance to the body, mind and emotions.
Benefits reported by Clients and students include deep relaxation, promoting a calm, peaceful sense of well being on all levels.
Holistic therapies encourage and support positive personal choices, such as improving diet, taking more exercise, devoting time for rest or leisure activities, and may reduce the need for alcohol and tobacco. Engendering greater inner harmony and balance, regular treatments promote a calmer response to life's challenges.

Treatments can be easily adapted to most medical conditions and may be used safely by people of all ages, including the newborn, pregnant mothers, surgical patients, the frail and the elderly, in any situation.
Being complementary, they work effectively alongside orthodox healthcare and natural remedies, expanding treatment options.
Holistic therapies can enhance everyday living, and regular sessions may help to promote development of a healthier, more resourceful state of being.
Note: Reiki and reflexology are being used in various settings including private practice, complementary therapy centres, GP surgeries, hospitals, hospices, cancer support groups, post-operative recovery, drug rehabilitation, prisons, HIV/AIDS centres, and in the care of the elderly.
