About Lisa

I specialise working with different healing modalities. I am a Reiki Master Teacher of Usui/Tibetan, Universal Karuna and Angelic Reiki.
I offer regular Reiki training courses and workshops at levels 1, 2,3 and 4.
I work in the Leek area and I offer my Reiki students regular supervision and support sessions. These take the form of monthly Reiki Share meetings as well as healing, meditation, crystal, energy and spiritual development workshops in Leek.
I am a Teacher member of the UK Reiki Federation.
Before retiring, I worked as a community mental health nurse (RMN) in North Staffordshire. I have over 22 years experience working as an NHS nurse. As part of my last job I ran a busy and successful Reiki Clinic for patients, carers and staff, taking referrals from a wide multi disciplinary team including doctors, nurses, physiotherapists and social workers.
I have worked for several years with the Carer's Associations in North and South Staffordshire, training carers in Reiki to support and empower them in their caring roles. I have also trained Macmillan nurses and Age Concern staff.
I have been working with complementary therapies now for 15 years and I use them both personally to keep myself healthy and in balance as well as for my family, friends and colleagues.
I practice my healing skills professionally at 'Open Heart Healing School of Reiki' my treatment and training centre in Leek. I work with a powerful healing art that is called VortexHealing® Divine Energy Healing. www.vortexhealing.com It comes from the Merlin lineage and is considered magical transformation. This exceptionally effective energy medicine can be directed precisely into any condition, any organ or bodily system. VortexHealing® is an advanced healing modality that helps people transform suffering and move into mindful awareness and awakening.

Lisa qualified with a Level 5 Diploma in Practitioner Reflexology with The Contemporary Reflexology College with Allison Walker in the autumn of

Reiki

The practice of Reiki is an original method of healing, developed by Dr. Mikao Usui in Japan early in the 20th century, which is activated by intention. It works on every level, not just the physical.
The Japanese word Reiki means 'Universal Energy'. Eastern medicine has always recognised and worked with this energy, which flows through all living things and is vital to well-being. Known as 'ki' in Japan, 'chi' in China and 'prana' in India. Acupuncture, T'ai chi and Yoga are also based on the free-flow of this energy in a person.
Reiki is a non-invasive therapy whose purpose is to treat holistically and to restore homeostasis.

What are the Benefits?

Illness can be a time of great stress. Reiki can help us cope by encouraging relaxation and bringing balance to both mind and emotions.
Benefits reported by Clients and students include deep relaxation, promoting a calm, peaceful sense of well being on all levels.
Reiki encourages and supports positive personal choices, such as improving diet, taking more exercise, devoting time for rest or leisure activities, and may reduce the need for alcohol and tobacco. Engendering greater inner harmony and balance, regular Reiki treatments promote a calmer response to life's challenges.
Reiki's gentle energy is easily adapted to most medical conditions and may be used safely by people of all ages, including the newborn, pregnant mothers, surgical patients, the frail and the elderly, in any situation.
Being complementary, Reiki works effectively alongside orthodox healthcare and natural remedies, expanding treatment options.
Reiki can enhance everyday living, and regular sessions may help to promote development of a healthier, more resourceful state of being.
Note: Reiki is being used in various settings including private practice, complementary therapy centres, GP surgeries, hospitals, hospices, cancer support groups, post-operative recovery, drug rehabilitation, prisons, HIV/AIDS centres, and in the care of the elderly.
