The Hatcheries, Old Church Poultry Farm, takes its name from St Edwards Church, known locally as the "Old Church", and was farmed by the Birchall family for over 75 years. Gaining reputations as pedigree poultry breeders nationally and internationally - supplying breeding stock and day-old chicks not only throughout Great Britain, but exporting worldwide to 26 countries.

Ideally situated, only two minutes from the town centre, yet, in a secluded position overlooking one of the finest scenic views of the moorlands. Adjacent to 30 acres of public parkland and gardens, with Squash, Tennis, Bowls, Swimming and Putting. Children's play areas with most facilities.

Leek is an old market town situated between the Potteries and the Peak District. It offers several antique emporiums and many shops, textile mill shops and a large market on a Wednesday and Saturday. Alton Towers is just 8 miles away.

Donkey Bank , part of which skirts our southern border was used in the last century by herders with their pack animals to bring salt to Sheffield from the Cheshire Salt Mines. They returned with coal from the Moorland Drift Mines.

Ball Lane, along our eastern border takes you through to the Moorlands.

Church Lane is just minutes away from the main town centre, with shops and restaurants galore. The old buildings of Leek are a sight to see and many bargains can be found for bargain hunters and collectors.
